Jorge Perez named STU Head Baseball Coach

After a thorough interview process, St. Thomas University and athletic director Laura Courtley-Todd have selected Jorge Perez to take over as the new head baseball coach of the program. The position was voided almost three weeks ago when Manny Mantrana accepted the head coaching position at the University of Texas Pan American.


FACILITIES

The setting for the Showcase is Frank Esposito III Field located in the middle of the St. Thomas University campus, in Miami, Florida. This is a beautiful lit up facility with a great playing surface.

Camp details:
2nd Annual Baseline Collegiate Training Camp is a three day clinic that offers high school and Junior College baseball players the chance to work with and learn from some of the best college coaches in the State of Florida and beyond (see list below). Each player will be guaranteed to play three games, and practice alongside each University baseball coach. There will be an 8-1 player to coach ratio. Two coaches representing their universities will coach each individual game. By the completion of the camp, each participant will be coached by all participating schools.



Players receive:
3 days of elite, professional instruction.
Live batting practice and infield / outfield practices
3 games. Each game will be coached by two different coaches representing their Universities or Professional Organization.

Equipment to bring:
Glove, baseball shoes, sneakers, baseball socks, a belt, a hat. If possible, catchers should bring their gear, and everyone should bring their bat. Clothing should match the weather conditions for that time of year and be prepared for any type of weather. All activities will be weather permitting. Be sure to label all of your items.



Camp Check-in:
Check in will begin at 9:00am on day one. Number of Openings Is Limited - The maximum number of players we accept for an event is 120. We also limit the number of players at each position in order to balance instruction time for each player.



Camp Waiver Insurance:
The cost for the treatment of injuries and hospitalization for illness or injuries incurred during the camps will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the participant. Each participant must have a liability/ medical release authorization form signed by a parent/ guardian and a photocopy of the front and back of your insurance card must be provided.
